When did you stop trusting compounded sources?

Honest question for the community. The 503A pathway has gotten unreliable for several research peptides since the bulk substance list changes. Quality variance across compounding pharmacies has always been a problem.
At what point did you switch from 503A sources to research-grade third-party-tested suppliers? Cost? Quality incident? Just regulatory uncertainty?
