HPLC column type matters more than the purity number itself

Saw a COA last week reporting 99.2% purity on a C8 column. Same peptide from same vendor on C18 came back at 96.8%. Different gradients pull different impurities into the main peak window.

When comparing vendor COAs, check the analytical method. Otherwise you're not actually comparing the same number.
