BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a 15-amino-acid synthetic peptide derived from a segment of the human gastric juice protein BPC. First described by Sikiric et al. in the early 1990s, it has been the subject of numerous preclinical studies investigating its effects on tissue repair, angiogenesis, and gastrointestinal mucosal protection. Despite a robust body of animal research, no completed human clinical trials with published pharmacokinetic data currently exist.
