KPV is a tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) consisting of Lys-Pro-Val. It retains some of the anti-inflammatory effects of alpha-MSH but without pigmentation effects. Limited human data.

• Anti-inflammatory activity (Strong preclinical): As the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH (Lys-Pro-Val), KPV retained melanocortin-linked anti-inflammatory activity in cell and animal models of colitis and skin inflammation without stimulating melanogenesis.
• Gut barrier and mucosal research models (Strong preclinical): Preclinical work in inflammatory bowel disease models reported reduced inflammatory markers and improved epithelial integrity after KPV exposure, supporting interest in mucosal inflammation pathways.
