A modification strategy where a reactive chemical group is added to a peptide that allows it to bind covalently and reversibly to serum albumin after administration. By "hitching a ride" on albumin, DAC-modified peptides gain dramatically extended half-lives, often from minutes to days. CJC-1295 DAC is the most well-known example, with a half-life extended to approximately 6-8 days compared to minutes for unmodified GRF (1-29).
