The 2003 Swiss mouse lifespan paper is the foundational result. Reproduced by his own group multiple times. Independent replication outside Saint Petersburg is sparse.

This is the classic concentration-of-publication problem. The mechanism is interesting (telomerase modulation), the chromatin work is real, but the headline 'extends lifespan in mammals' claim depends on essentially one research tradition's data.
