Peptide Vendor Shutdowns

Four forces converged on the category between late 2024 and 2026. First, FDA enforcement escalated in waves: warning letters to sellers of GLP-1-class compounds in December 2024, then more than 50 letters during September 2025 (most dated September 9), then, per widely reported but unconfirmed community accounts, physical enforcement: Amino Asylum went offline in June 2025 amid accounts of a federal action described in coverage as possibly the first raid on a major vendor.

Second, pharmaceutical litigation: Eli Lilly filed a U.S. International Trade Commission complaint over tirzepatide in October 2023 and, per press coverage, sued telehealth firms and importers in April 2025; Novo Nordisk sued more than a dozen semaglutide distributors in August 2025. Third, criminal prosecution moved from early cases (the October 2020 Tailor Made Compounding guilty plea) to the present tense: the owner of Paradigm Peptides pleaded guilty in December 2025 and was sentenced to 70 months in July 2026.

Fourth, and per industry coverage often fastest of all: payment processors and hosting platforms pulled the plug on vendors before any regulator did. One 2026 shutdown in this log was a hosting platform's trust-and-safety takedown, not an enforcement action. The SAFE Drugs Act (H.R. 6509 / S. 3794), introduced in early 2026 with provisions on compounding-pharmacy limits, labeling, reporting, and inspections, points at where the regulatory line moves next.
